Using Our Legs

Hey there Wildcats!

For the past two weeks we've been working on our soccer skills. We learned the technique and form for trapping, dribbling, passing, and shooting. I was so impressed with how much growth I saw throughout the unit! Check out Mrs.Villani's class showcasing their skills during mini-games of 3 vs 3 soccer...

During the fitness portion of each lesson, the primary and intermediate students gained some head knowledge to go along with their physical skills. The primary students focused on this question - how can you tell that you just exercised? The intermediate students are learning the different areas of health-related fitness - what area of health-related fitness are you improving when you take the dog for a walk? My hope is for our Wildcats to have an understanding of what constitutes moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA), so they reach the goal of obtaining at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

Did you know that you can sign a permission slip for your Wildcat to walk or run the trail before school? I went out to run  the trail on Tuesday with our students, and I was amazed! I love that our students utilize this trail, as well as their free time, to get in some much needed exercise. My goal is to walk or run with the students every Tuesday. Sign your Wildcat up today!

Thanks for checking in,

Miss Stone
