We've been doing some cooperation activities in PE to hone our skills...and, unfortunately, I've felt under the weather which required a few sick days. As we start our throwing unit next week, I'm hoping we can continue to focus on what it looks like to be a good teammate - we'll discuss communication (both positive and negative), compromise, flexibility, sharing, and trust. PE provides a very natural platform for learning how to work with others.
In other news outside of PE, Mrs. Lamar, one of our wonderful educational assistants at Wilson, is starting the running club back up! Wilson Wildcat Running Club will start next week! It will be a little different than in years past. It will be taking place during morning recess. For now, it will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, for grades 3-5. She plans to add in K-2 on Tuesday and Thursday once location and logistic details get figured out. Secondly, the club will involve more than just counting laps. Running is so much more than that! She plans to include running games and relays, as well as peer bonding activities. This is a great opportunity during the school day, so please take advantage of this time!
First weeks at a glance...
Mrs. Kramer's class playing PAC-man tag
Mrs. McCracken's class playing Hula Hoop Hang On
Mrs. Gough's class getting off of their sinking boat!
Mrs. Michalski's class moving as one turtle
Mrs. Villani's class playing Hog Call - getting grouped with your eyes closed while making your animal sound
Thanks so much for checking in!
